Maja Flink is born in Sweden 1978 and started working as a photographer in 2007 after finishing her BA in photography at London college of Communication.
Her focus has consistentely been portraiture both in her commission based work life and personal projects. She has shot portraits for many international magazines and newspapers such as The Guardian, The Telegraph, Financial Times, Monocle, Paper Magazine, Architects Journal and Frame.
In 2015 she selfpublished her first photography book FU, a personal story told through both portraits and landscapes. She had her first exhibiton in 2007 with her series ‘Costmetic Surgery’ and has been exhibited in various galleries in Sweden, Denmark and UK since then.
Her personal work has taken her to places like Colombia, Japan, Moscow, Cuba, the Southern US and Bhutan. She approaches what she finds on her trips, whether landscapes or people, in the same way as her other work, creating a stillness and intimate atmosphere.
